Community Guidelines

Scubaful is a community built on respect, safety, and a shared passion for scuba diving. These Community Guidelines help ensure that our platform remains a welcoming and positive space for all divers.

By using Scubaful, you agree to follow these guidelines. Violations may result in content removal, account suspension, or permanent termination.

1. Be Respectful and Kind

Treat everyone with respect and courtesy. Our community includes divers from diverse backgrounds, experience levels, and cultures.

Do:

  • Engage in constructive and friendly conversations
  • Welcome new divers and share your knowledge
  • Respect different diving philosophies and approaches
  • Give credit to others for their photos, videos, and contributions

Don't:

  • Harass, bully, or intimidate other users
  • Use hate speech or discriminatory language
  • Engage in personal attacks or insults
  • Share private information about others without permission

2. Keep Content Appropriate

Share content that is relevant to diving and appropriate for all ages.

Prohibited Content:

  • Sexual or suggestive content
  • Graphic violence or disturbing imagery
  • Content promoting illegal activities
  • Spam, advertisements, or promotional content (without permission)
  • Copyrighted material you don't have rights to use

3. Prioritize Safety

Safety is paramount in scuba diving. Be responsible when sharing diving advice and information.

Safety Guidelines:

  • Don't give medical or fitness advice beyond suggesting users consult a doctor
  • Don't encourage unsafe diving practices (deep solo dives, exceeding limits, etc.)
  • Verify your certifications and experience accurately on your profile
  • If organizing trips, be clear about requirements, risks, and your qualifications
  • Report dangerous or reckless diving advice you encounter

IMPORTANT: SCUBAFUL IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR DIVE SAFETY

Scubaful does not verify organizers, operators, or dive professionals. You are solely responsible for evaluating the qualifications, safety practices, and legitimacy of anyone you connect with through the platform. Always conduct your own due diligence before participating in any dive trip.

4. Be Honest and Authentic

Authenticity builds trust in our community.

Do:

  • Use your real name and information
  • Represent your certifications and experience accurately
  • Be honest about trip costs, locations, and details
  • Share genuine photos and experiences

Don't:

  • Impersonate other people, dive operators, or organizations
  • Create fake profiles or use bots
  • Misrepresent your qualifications or experience
  • Post misleading dive site information

5. Respect Intellectual Property

Only share content you have the right to share.

  • Don't upload photos or videos that belong to others without permission
  • Credit photographers and content creators when sharing their work
  • Respect copyright, trademarks, and other intellectual property rights
  • If someone asks you to remove their content, please do so promptly

6. No Spam or Scams

Keep the community focused on diving, not commercial solicitation.

  • Don't send unsolicited promotional messages
  • Don't post repetitive or irrelevant content
  • Don't attempt to scam, defraud, or mislead other users
  • Don't use the platform for pyramid schemes or multi-level marketing
  • Dive professionals may share their services authentically, but excessive promotion is not allowed

7. Protect Your Account Security

Keep your account secure to protect yourself and the community.

  • Use a strong, unique password
  • Don't share your password with anyone
  • Don't let others access your account
  • Report suspicious activity or security concerns immediately

8. Reporting Violations

If you encounter content or behavior that violates these guidelines, please report it.

How to Report:

Contact us at support@scubaful.com with:

  • Description of the violation
  • Username or profile of the violator
  • Links to or screenshots of the problematic content
  • Any other relevant context

We will review all reports and take appropriate action. Please note that we cannot provide details about actions taken against other users' accounts due to privacy.

9. Consequences for Violations

Violations of these guidelines may result in:

First Violation:

  • Warning notification
  • Content removal
  • Request to review Community Guidelines

Repeat or Serious Violations:

  • Temporary account suspension (7-30 days)
  • Restricted access to features (messaging, posting, etc.)
  • Content removal and profile restrictions

Severe or Illegal Violations:

  • Permanent account termination
  • Reporting to law enforcement (when appropriate)
  • Legal action if necessary

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any account at our discretion for violations of these guidelines or our Terms of Service.

10. Appeals

If you believe your content was removed or your account was suspended in error, you may appeal the decision.

To appeal, contact support@scubaful.com with:

  • Your username and email address
  • Details about the action taken (content removal, suspension, etc.)
  • Explanation of why you believe the action was incorrect

We will review appeals and respond within 5-7 business days. Our decision on appeals is final.

11. Changes to These Guidelines

We may update these Community Guidelines from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the updated guidelines on the Service and updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this page.

Your continued use of Scubaful after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated guidelines.
